After an up and down regular season, the Philadelphia Eagles begin true defense of their Super Bowl crown against a very familiar foe and a fanbase always at the ready with exuses.
We all certainly remember the 31-7 beatdown the Birds placed upon SF in 2023, and the subsequent whining that the Eagles would have lost if Brock Purdy hadn't been injured. After two years of hand wringing and two Eagles Super Bowl appearances later, it's officially put up or shut up time for both franchises. But while the Eagles come in mostly rested, the Niners find themselves worn down, decimated and tired after failing to secure the #1 seed at home against the Seahawks Saturday night.
